Riga Region Development Agency (RRDA), was founded by six Latvian municipalities of the central region, namely Riga City, Jurmala City and Districts of Riga, Tukums, Ogre and Limbazi on December 6, 2001, and started its activities from January, 2002.

On 25 January 2005 agency was reorganized as a foundation- “Foundation “Riga Region Development Agency”” (FRRDA). The founders are following Riga region municipalities: Riga City Council, Jurmala City Council, Riga District Council, Ogre District Council, Tukuma District Council and Limbazhi District Council.

FRRDA operates according to the Law “On societies and foundations”.

The Vision: the Riga Region is a socially and economically balanced, internationally competitive region within the area of the Baltic Sea Region.

Our mission is to improve competitiveness of the Riga Region and to promote its social and economic development within the Baltic Sea Region.

RRDA’s Objectives

1. To enforce regional development and investment policy set by the Riga Planning Region Development Council;
2. To promote business development and to attract international and local funding to the Riga region, as well as to insure their protection.
3. To promote cooperation between the public and private sector.
